We are live. We are live. That's what the little message says to me. We are live. Let me know if you are catching this on YouTube, on Facebook, on Twitter, two times in a row for Twitter. How about that? I'm watching the comments. Let me know if you're out there. I'm going to do a quick question. While you guys are coming on, I want to ask you, did you try yesterday's love challenge? That sounds a little naughty, doesn't it? It really isn't. It's all about good dog training. As you join me, please comment where you're from and let me know if you... I see some hearts. I'm giving you hearts right back. Let me know if you had a chance. Karen from Scotland. Hello from Poland. If you got a chance to do the love challenge yesterday. Hey from Texas and Minnesota. Welcome. So the love challenge was that everything you did in the day yesterday, if you, when you were, you know, if you got short and you could have extended this to family and like friends that if you snapped, if you did something you had to say, because I love you after it or anything you did. All right. Because I love you. So if you go, Oh, I told you to sit. It's because I love you. Really? Does that make sense? Is that really how you treat someone you love? Scotland and Brussels and Australia, which is very dark o'clock on a Sunday morning. So actually it's Monday morning. Australians are from the future. Did you know that? True story. It's Monday morning for our Aussie friends, Norway, Holland, the UK. Hello from the UK. Okay. So, um, uh, did you try the challenge from Florida and Tennessee? People from all over. This is so awesome. So awesome. And if you did, how did it go for you? Was it enlightening? Did you go, Oh, that's Susan Garrett. She's an, she's annoying that Susan Garrett making me say, I love you after it. That's so cool. I'm glad to see so many of you try it. Way cool. Okay. Barbara from Nambia. We are getting, have we covered every continent yet? I don't think we've got, uh, Japan, Asia. I know Japan. It's not that common. Okay. I'm going to ask you another question as you got new Caledonia in the house. I'm going to ask you another question. Um, have you ever signed up for an online dog training class and not finished the class? Be honest, a hundred percent honest. Did you sign up for one and you didn't finish it? I'll tell you my answer. I've actually, I have signed up for one. Oh, maybe two or three. I don't know. Probably several online dog training classes. Um, mostly trying out programs for people who might

be teaching in our membership of agility nation. I'd like to see what they're doing. Um, so did you ever sign up for one and you didn't finish it? Uh, yes to the challenge. No, but the class was yours. Recallers for the win. Yes. Sabine. Oh, Lisa peers. I, every time you tell me you're from Hawaii, I'm always act like I'm shocked. I know you've told me that before. Um, no recallers was your first online. Okay. Well, you know what? You better stick with us because some others might not get you there until now. I've only ever done one online class and I did complete it, but still had much confusion at the end. Interesting. Wow. You guys are impressed. Impressive. Yeah. Jessica said, I've signed up for a few, but I'm a chronic starter and a forgetter. Okay. So I'm happy to see a lot of you guys are, um, are not, but I got to tell you, uh, I have signed up for online classes. Many, many, many, many, many of them, only a few in dog training. Um, other than a couple of fitness classes, I have never finished them. Never finished them. Okay. Um, but here's a second question that's related. This is different. This is very different. Have you ever signed up for an online dog training class and felt like you didn't get your money's worth? That's different because you don't have to finish something to get your money's worth. Do you? But you might finish something and go, Oh crap. I didn't get my money's worth out of this. Right. So have you ever found out, have you ever signed up for one and said, Oh, this wasn't, I didn't get my money's worth. Yeah. Pat says, yes. Sadly, me too. Because you have this expectation of what it's like. So yes. In person. Hey, Danielle, me too. So there's a, there's a lot of lessons. Yes. Just finished it. It was very disappointing. So there's a lot of, there's a lot of things we can unpack with this question. Um, because what you can say is I've signed up for an online dog training and I only got halfway through it, but it changed my life. Did you get your value? Oh, heck yes. That's me. All those online, all online programs that I've signed up for many of them were on, uh, leading how to lead a team, how to learn about, um, the internet, how to, how to do, um, online businesses never finished any of them, but it's working out for me. Okay. Because I know how to talk to you guys on Facebook live and YouTube live. And I even figured out how to add Twitter on my own. So number one is value. Isn't about finishing. It's not about checking boxes is about learning and growing for two is be conscious to when you take something, when you're not getting value,

... ... ... ...
don't feel the need to finish it. Don't feel the need to finish it. I did that recently. I signed up for something and, um, I could see it was not what I thought it was. And I just, I dropped it. Okay. Um, I'm okay to, I would rather just, just, just cut my losses and not finish a course than keep finishing it thinking that it's going to go somewhere where it hasn't so far. Okay. So those are interesting questions. Now the, the word of the day today is grace. Now you might be thinking, what the heck does grace have to do with dog training? And I guess there's several meanings of the word grace. Now I don't mean grace in a, um, as in prayers before a meal, although it's a very good thing to do. And I also don't mean grace as in a, a, um, a way of being like you're in my good graces because of course you all are what I'm, what I'm talking about grace. It's, um, it's more like, um, goodwill. It's like a courteous goodwill that we extend and we, we consider it. We consider it a, um, something that we agree, we extend to others. I will get, you were late. You know, a teacher says you were late for this assignment, but I will give you grace because I understand that you just had your appendix out. True story. That happened to me in university. One teacher said there'll be no grace, even though you missed the midterm because I was in having surgery and, uh, there was no grace for that. So people extend grace. How, and, and when I think of the word grace, it's actually one of my, it's, it's, it's up there. This has been the word of 2021 for me is, is grace for myself. And you think of extending grace to others, but in the world of dog training, I, I think that you need to move forward by giving your dog grace and giving yourself grace. Now, if you think of, this is a phenomenal quote, um, by Brene, Brene Brown about, about grace, just love this grace means that all of your mistakes now serve a purpose instead of serving shame. Because when we think of the mistakes that we make, and so often we're, you know, just the circumstance would make us feel less than we feel like we're a failure. We, we feel like our dog is a failure. And if you consider the word grace, we allow that, those mistakes to have meaning in our life. And that's when we can move forward, right? Do you guys, does, does that, is that, is that something that you would, that makes sense that you go, yeah, I, I can see how I feel better about where I am today, better than I was yesterday, just by thinking about grace today, I'm going to, of course, give away some really cool prizes. Thank you to our

sponsors, hearts for the sponsors. Um, I want to share with you, um, I'm going to share with you up front first, uh, a little bit about my own journey and maybe it would make sense to you. Isn't that a beautiful quote? Absolutely a beautiful quote. So when I look at my dog training, um, where I started in an, and some of you may have started where, where I did some of you, I know many people who started in our homeschool, the dog or our recallers program with your first dog, you are so far ahead of where I started. So I, you know, I spoke yesterday about the different ways that you can train a dog. And I was never taught the strict, um, praise and punishment. We call that, that, that praise and punishment where, um, the dogs primarily are taught through the lack of punishment means you are correct. And, um, that is really a stressful way for any animal humans included to learn. And then I kind of jumped in, in the next phase, which is the lure and pop, meaning you teach the dog to follow the cookie. And then, um, once you've got them following the cookie, you arbitrarily deem, they know it. And if they don't do it, they get a little pop, a little pop in the collar. That's where I came into dog training, lure and pop. And, um, I, I think, let me see from 1988 to the early nineties by 92, I had moved to the next stage, which is shaping using a clicker to shape behaviors, but then popping when they didn't get it right. And by the mid nineties, I had gone to this is, this is a stage where I think a lot of people are currently stuck in and I'm going to have to tell you a little story for the stage name to make sense to me. So I I I'm sharing this for the first time. I've never told anybody that what goes through my head. It's a scary place to be sometimes. Let me preface this by saying my, my late husband born and raised in England, and he had some of the weirdest expressions, but the funniest ones. And when he expected something, but got something else, this was his expression. And maybe those of you who are British would have heard this expression before he would say, well, that's a little bit of mutton dressed up as lamb, isn't it? When you expect something, but you get something else. And so the first few stages of dog training, really, it was clear to the dog. Um, well, you know, if you don't do this, you're going to get a, a physical correction. But then when I moved on to the stage that I call a little bit of mutton dressed up as lamb, we know, we don't want to physical, physically correct our dogs. We don't want to say, no,

we don't want to blame or judge. We don't want to call her correct, but there's a gap, a transitional gap. And so what happens is we replace those collar pops with timeouts. So it's still punishing the dog, but we're, we're feeling good about ourselves because we're not physically correcting our dogs. But honestly, as a dog, I almost feel like I'd want to be punished more with physical corrections than to constantly be given timeouts and try to figure out why I was wrong. So for example, a dog keeps breaking a start line and you carry them off in agility, or, um, the dog is, um, pulling on leash and the way that we punish them as we stop and they have to figure out to come back to us. That's a punishment. That's a timeout. Um, that a timeout means we're taking the dog away from what they're doing. And when we bring them back, we hope they've learned their lesson. And I think that's the phase of dog training. I call a little bit of mutton dressed up as lamb, because we don't think we're punished being bugged. Gosh, darn it. We sure as heck are. We just haven't figured it out how to get, and there's a transition for me. It's a, it's a, it was at a gradual transition of reducing the now the amount of, of timeouts I gave my dogs back in the, um, mid to late nineties, Buzzy, my dog Buzzy. I wrote the book shaping success about and, um, decaf my, my Jack Russell mix. Those two were in the mutton dressed up as lambs phase, where they got a, a whole lot of timeouts, a whole lot of timeouts because I didn't know. I didn't, I knew, I knew what I didn't want, but I didn't know how to do what I wanted. A little bit of mutton dressed up as lamb phase and where we've, or I've evolved to in our, in our students, our online students have evolved to yeah. Dawn, bingo, Dawn, see this a lot. When a dog drops a bar in agility, you're bad. You should know better. I'm punishing you. And it's really, it's because people are frustrated and they don't know what to do when, you know, punishment begins where knowledge ends. I want my dog to learn to not knock bars, but I don't know how to teach them. Join agility nation. We'll show you how, but I digress. And so where we are now, I don't know. I don't have a good name for what I do now, but I think it's, I think what it comes up to me is shaped by each other. That as we're shaping the dogs, the dogs are shaping us. So that's, that's kind of where I'm at now. And I, do you guys understand, do you, do you understand the little bit of mutton dressed up as lamb phase? Are you, are you,

are you following where I was? And I, and I knew, I knew what I was doing. Probably not with Buzzy. I didn't. And God bless Buzzy. Let's have some hearts for Buzzy. He was the perfect dog to be in that stage with because he was, he just kept barking and screaming at me and doing, and it was like, Oh, you want me to get a timeout now? Okay. I'll give myself a timeout. That's how we got to. Okay. So a lot of you are, are, are saying, yeah, I get that. I get that. Right. Um, Veronica, that's the foundation, but that doesn't teach dogs not to knock bars. We can teach dogs to jump, but that doesn't teach them not to knock bars is a completely different thing. Okay. And so here's, where I, and if you can come up with a different, with a, with a better name than a, you know what? I liked the little bit of button dressed up as lamb because it reminds me of John. Um, so we have some really talented, really, really talented students in our communities, in our online communities. When I say our online communities, I mean, recallers and handling 360 and homeschool, the dog and agility nation. So, and I see peeps of course. So we have amazing, amazing, talented students. And I was talking to a really good friend of mine, uh, just yesterday, and I was encouraging her to join recallers. And I said, the, the main reason I want you to join is for the community because these people reflect the lessons. I want their dogs to know. They reflect it to each other. It's the most amazing place to be in our online communities. Just, I could go on, but here's where I want to go. So why I'm talking about our students, because one of our most amazing students by the name of Karen Hartnell, who is from Scotland. And I, when I said to her, I said, in the midst of one of our lives at one, I said, Karen, this would be a great cartoon. I didn't even tell her what it was. And she came up with this great cartoon. So this exemplifies where my first dog training class, this is what it was. Now, some of you will have a better experience than my first formal dog training class. I went with my 12 week old Jack Russell Terrier puppy. And it starts with zero connection. I walk into this class and the dog isn't saying squirrel. The dog is saying, Oh, look at the other dog. She's a 12 week old puppy. And she's like, Oh my gosh, there's other dogs. I'm so excited. I'm, and, and, and she's just like lunging and looking everywhere. And I was told that dog will need a choke chain. So you can let her know that's not acceptable. All right. Because

she wasn't looking at my lures because she was so focused on, Oh, look at everything else. Squirrel here, squirrel there. All right. And from, we start with zero connection and then they say, okay, put the lure over the dog's head and we're going to do sit. And we're going to do down and we're going to do stay. So we started with zero connection. And now you want me to put the cookie over the dog's head, say, good, sit, good, sit, good, sit. Please see my, um, shaped by dog to tell you why that's just a crazy thing to do. And they get into a sit and then we immediately come out in front and say, stay, stay. They don't know what stay means. And what do they do? Of course they move. So we have our, our, our, our hand strategically placed under the leash so that when they do move, boom, we can pop them back into a sit and then go through this whole thing again. Right. We have zero clarity and that pop back into a sit. The dog's like, uh, I don't know what this place is, but I don't think I like it. I don't like how you treat me here. I'm confused. I don't understand. All right. And what some people do from there is they try to do things like, I don't know, uh, retrieve or, uh, getting the dog to do agility. And that's where we get dogs when we're adding complexity. When we didn't have connection, there was no clarity. We didn't have confidence and we're adding complexity. Well, then you have a dog who my, you know, my dog sniffs when I try to do agility. My dog sniffs when I'm in a new environment. My dog runs away. My dog gets the zoomie. That's because you're on the zero train, right? We, we want to get off the zero train. So I have some more hearts for Karen Hartnell drive, drawing these amazing cartoons for me to teach all of you. All right. And so that was what my very first dog training class was like. It was like that poor, poor puppy. And, and I've told this story before, I think along week three or four, um, they had the instructors kneel down at one end of the hall and you had to give your dog a cookie and lure them, uh, up to the instructor and then back behind them and say, come and give them a pop. And after two of these, my Jack Russell was super smart as all Jack Russells are after two of those, they said, okay, come on up. Well, she, she showed a lack of confidence, pinned her ears and went to a boat anchor on the floor, said, no, I'm not going near those people. Apparently people are bad. And I said, well, what should I do? They said, pop her towards them. She's not doing what she's told. She now might've

been what a 14 or 15 week old puppy. Okay. So that was, and you know, I can say this was in 1988, but guess what? Exact same thing happens still today, right? It isn't now there might be slightly different, but yeah, some of you are saying same thing, same thing, same thing. Okay. So what, what, what I want for you all, and I'll share with you what that looks like is what I've referred to before as the C train. The first thing we do is connection. And by the way, I wish I could show you videos of this, but earlier this morning at 10 o'clock this morning, it's, it's like one 30 right now, my younger brother came with his family. Uh, he's got two children, eight and six, and they adopted a brand new Beagle. And, uh, I think the, I think they're calling them Gunnels and Gunnels is, um, 13 months old. So he came into this house and I had an area set up downstairs so he could meet me and we could do some training. The first thing I did was I wanted to make a connection with Gunnels and we can, uh, and, and that's what we did. And through that connection, then he's like, uh, you're teaching me something. Okay. Well, this is fun. I like this. And I'm, and then I had, I, I got my sister-in-law out to teach the same thing. I got my brother to teach the same thing. I got their eight-year-old son to teach the same thing. And then, um, we had, you know, several breaks for this little guy. And then by the end we had my six-year-old niece teach the same thing. And I do have videos so I can show, well, I don't really feel comfortable sharing what the kids were doing, but I'll share what the adults are doing. Um, the kids were amazing and I will show it in Recallers. All right. I just don't know about sharing publicly, um, these little gaffers, right? So rescue dog, this is his third home and super sweet beagle. Uh, probably might be a beagle cross. I'm not sure. And, um, made a connection with me really fast. And then I'm working on creating clarity and I'll, and I'll share with you what that looks like in a second. I just want to go through what the C train looks like. Now I have a dog who is, who I I've created clarity with one thing. We can grow their, that dog's confidence doing that one thing. And we didn't add much complexity, maybe a touch, but not much this morning, but that's what the C train looks like. If you follow this C train, there is nothing you can't teach your dog to do. I promise you, there is nothing you can't teach your dog to do when you're following the C train approach. And that's what our online classes look like. That's what it looks like. It's creating the

connection. So, um, it doesn't matter if you're doing agility, if you're doing, um, I want to have amazing family pet gunnels. They want him to, anyone know what a gunnels is? See how, how, how well versed you all are. Um, I didn't know FYI. And it doesn't matter what you're doing gunnels. They just want them to be an amazing family pet. That's what they want. And any of you, any of you who have seen our crate games online, the beagle that was in that crate games, which was videoed, I think like 16 years ago, that was my brother's first, well, second beagle. This is his third beagle and rescues, all of them rescues. Okay. Are you, would you guys like me to go into more detail what it would look like in our classrooms when I would teach the connection, the clarity, the confidence and the complexity? Would you want me to go in a little deeper to share with you what that would, would look like for you? If you, if you, if you, if you're clear, uh, gunnels, it's something to do. Yeah. They're avid campers and canoers. So the gunnels apparently is a part of a, the bow, their beagle used to sit up on the bow. And so, okay. So a lot of you would like to know what this looks like. Okay. So for, let me just, um, share with you with gunnels, because this is exactly how I teach all my dogs. This is exactly how I teach my students. This is exactly how you would walk through, um, in, in a program in one of our online programs. So visualize you in our programs. And this is what it looks like. So connection. So with gunnels, I, the first thing I needed him to understand is how to have value for something. Have you ever met a beagle? Um, value for food, not such a big, bad, big, bad problem. Yeah. Check from the moment he came in the house. Huh? Oh yeah. Oh yeah. I'm liking the food. I'm liking the food, auntie. This is good. So I, I mean, I anticipated with a beagle that they would love food. And so I, instantly went through different values of food, knowing when I'm working on this part of training, I'm going to use a lower value. When I'm working on this part of training, I'm gonna use a higher value. So value for food and value for a toy. Guess what? Guttles the beagle, big tugger, loves to tug. So we work that into our training with the kids. So I, because the, I want the kids to understand kindness and training, how's that going to be bad for any kids to learning about being kind in interactively, um, building value for animals. And how's that going to hurt them as an adult, as they grow up and as they

go through life. All right. So value for food value for toys. Boom. That is helping me create a connection with this dog. So he, he has a rest. He comes back, he jumps back into, into this little training area. He goes, hi, auntie Susan, what are we going to do now? Uh, I really want to do whatever you want to do. So now we have a connection, a start of a connection. Now they remember this dog has had a bit of a bumpy road the last three weeks, three weeks, three homes, right? His, his original owners, uh, you know, said no more. And then he went into foster for three weeks and now he's in his, his new home. And then he's back to my home would count the fourth home as he arrived. And so now I need gunnels to understand that value is something you can work for. You push the right buttons, bing, bing, bing, Pez dispenser. It starts flying. And so there are games that we play that help the dog understand, don't try and mug my hand. And this is an ongoing process. I had to teach the kids, my brother and my sister-in-law don't mug my hands. Don't try and steal the food. Excuse me. You can work for it. That's helping to create clarity at working with me. And it's also building a connection, a deeper connection because the food comes through me, right? I'm not going to, um, I'm not go, go imagine going to work. I'm going to, I'm going to come back to my examples. We're going to go from, from a connection to clarity, but imagine this, imagine if you worked at a place, it could be an office, it could be a factory job. And you knew you had to show up at a certain time. And every once in a while, the boss would come through and just spit money at you. Yeah. And then they'd leave. And then randomly throughout the day, they'd come back, making it rain, baby. And you had to like, you and your coworkers were diving all over the floor for this money. So then what happens the rest of the time? Well, I got to do this work. And then randomly the boss shows up and nude, but if the boss shows up and he doesn't have any money, well, eventually you're, I mean, at first you're going to go, are you, I'm ready? Are you, are you, no, I'm just walking to the bathroom. Oh, okay. And then he comes through again. Is it, is it, no. And so you learn, I'm going to ignore the boss unless he's coming with, you know, big wads of cash. When he comes with big wads of cash, oh, I'm all in. I'll do anything to get that cash. But how are you going to work outside of that? And how are you going to care about your boss outside of that? That's what, and I'm not saying you should never lure a dog. I personally don't really

use it that much, but if you're, if you're using lures exclusively to train a dog, then what they learn is to be excited when they see the food or if you're luring with a tennis ball or a toy. And then if they see you at other times and you aren't pecking, you aren't making it rain. Okay. I'm going to find my value somewhere else. I'm going to, I'm going to try to eat the pockets of your jacket because there were some crumbs of food in there. So what I was doing with gunnels, making the connection. And then the first lesson they need to know is food is something you never try and steal. It's something you earn. Yeah. Now we've got a great connection and a great understanding of how payouts work. And so he looks at me and then whether he smells food on me or not, he's like, oh, this, this could be the time we're going to work. Okay. I like work because what's happening is the value of the food goes through me. Now, now I've got connection and I'm going to start creating clarity for something. And the first thing would be some sort of, I like, I like to do targeting. So the target might be, um, something I hold. I want you to target your nose, targeting your paws, target, targeting could be a location like crate games or hot zone targeting could be my hand. And from there now I've got a dog who understands how work works. Okay. I earn things. I do things. I earn things. And we just keep repeating that. And we grow confidence in that dog. And we do, we, we result, the targeting results in many different behaviors. If you're doing, um, dog agility, it could be, um, you know, doing all the obstacles. If you want a great family pet targeting could be, you target my side. So I have a dog who walks on a nice loose leash or you target, um, my, my, the, the, an area of the kitchen. So I have a dog who stays out of my, out of my, um, when I'm cooking, I don't like dogs under feet when I'm cooking. All right. Starts with connection has nothing to do with follow the food and randomly, I'm going to be luring you to do something. I get clarity on behaviors, targeting comes first, and then I start building, layering, layering, understanding. And then when I've got this great understanding, I add complexity of a challenge. And the challenge that I added for Gunnels today was I built value for a target, a mat, and then I just moved away from it. And did he have enough value that he would show me to move back on himself, which he did. Okay. So that's what it looks like when you guys have this, it's like a mind melt. That's why I say

it's being shaped by each other. Because while we're shaping our dogs, our dogs are shaping us that if they don't get it, they will let us know. Let me give you an example. Um, I'm going to give you an example. I don't know how many of you are interested in agility. Is it all right if I show you a video demonstrating this in the context of agility? Is that, um, would that be lost or would you understand that? And I'm going to, as long as you, there's enough people on here that have an interest, I will share it. But, um, this is, um, uh, the, to set this up, the video, the student I'm going to show you is a very, very, uh, accomplished agility, uh, agility, uh, trainer. So when he joined our handling 360, he'd already come second in the world with his, with one of his dogs. And he wanted to start handling 360 with his, okay, there's enough of you. That's great. So he wanted to start handling 360 with his young dog and he raised his young dog up in our program in handling 360. He had amazing skills and he'd already run agility and been successful with his previous dog already won a silver medal. And so he didn't really need, um, that the handling was different. He learned the handling and all the verbals and how we add them. Um, but some of his understanding of the obstacles wasn't where I thought it should be. And so he came to us and he said, look, my young dog was just named to, to, uh, represent France at the European open, except I have no seesaw and I need help because I have four weeks to go to the European open. And so he added complexity of running high level courses and the dog showed him a lack of confidence and, uh, and he showed him in his behavior, dogs are shaping us. Well, we are shaping them. We have to be present and open to that feedback. Okay. So I'm going to share my screen. I'm going to just, uh, cue this up. It's like a minute long. So it shows you all the ways that they were con the dog was confused and how Thomas was shaped by getting closer and closer to the dog in competition, trying to prevent a mistake, which caused it off course down the road. All right. So I'm going to share, share my screen and, uh, Oh wait, that's not what I want. Hold on. Okay. If the music's too loud, just let me know. Okay. So you can see the dog's name is must and she learned to slow down. He was having these amazing runs, but the dog would just either bail off or fly off. Right. Colossal fly offs. Okay. And then after he worked through agility nation and we actually documented all of his training and put it into agility nation. So you have clarity, you have

confidence. You have a dog who knows how to do what is expected and you don't have to stand around waiting. So Thomas can now keep moving. Look at how far ahead he is. He never had that before. So that is what, what is so awesome is that, is that Thomas didn't what, what he didn't say this dog is bad. He was like that puppy, but that was dog was less than two years old at that time. He didn't get all mad and say, you, you must, you know, that's the dog's name funny enough that, that you're wrong. You're bad. And that's the, the tact that many people take is they say, you are not doing what I taught you. And there's an illusion. We can't control dogs. There's an illusion that if we, you know, use a shock collar at a distance, we can control the dog. We can. Okay. I didn't get beat up. If you're seeing my arms, I'm my massage therapist got a little crazy with me that there's this illusion of control. The control, no one can control an animal. An animal has free will, but what we can do is create these layers of learning that creates complete connection that is carried through all the layers and the dogs will share their feedback with us. If we are open to it as to what they understand, do you understand that you need to come to me even when you're chasing wildlife? Yeah, I do. Or no, I don't. And what do you do with that information? Do you get mad or do you say, thank you for that feedback? I'm going to go back to the drawing board and look at where the layers are incomplete. Okay. Does that, is that, so do you understand the C train in its completion? And if you do, here's where some of you might be. And I saw in the comments, you said, oh yeah, that lure and correction, that's where I'm still stuck in. Or yeah, my dog is still eating my, my, my coat pockets or that's where grace comes in guys. I think it's easier to have grace for a dog than it is to have grace for ourselves. And when we don't have grace for ourselves, what happens is we get stuck. We get stuck feeling guilty about what we've done to our dogs or feeling guilty about we, what we've done to our past dogs that are no longer with us. And we get paralyzed and afraid to move forward. And that's a horrible place to be because you're not living your best life with your dog because you've not giving yourself grace. When you give yourself grace, you and your dog move forward. And guess what? You're going to make mistakes. We all do, but you can always come back to what Brene Brown says that grace means that all of these mistakes now just serve a purpose instead of serving

shame. And where that shame comes from a lot of times is from within the shame comes from us, not giving ourselves grace. And that's why it's one of my favorite words for dog training. As you move through the evolution of your own dog training, whatever that looks like, it doesn't have to look like mine, but as you move through that evolution that you've got to give yourself grace and say, I think life can be better and I'm ready to take a risk and take a chance and move forward with my dogs. All right. That is that. Yeah. That is the big thing. And, and it is how, how do we do that? And that is why my team and I work so hard at coaching our online students that we aren't just putting up information and say, have at it. We are putting up the information and we are being shaped by student. You reflect back what we've taught you. And if you are not getting the same results that Susan Garrett is, then let us, please allow us to help us to understand where we failed you and how we can create more clarity for you. Because those layers of connection and clarity and confidence and complexity, they aren't just for you training a dog. They're for us teaching you. And we take that on board wholeheartedly myself and all of our coaches. All right. So I'm not sure where you are in your, in your journey, but we have one more day left where you can have an opportunity to join us in our online training programs. And I'm just going to share with you. This is what it looks like when you go to, um, to our cyber central room, when you go to, uh, shape by dog.com forward slash cyber, you arrive on this page and there's a one minute video of me and I don't know what I'm doing. It looks like I'm in pain, but please forgive me for that. And just click that video. And it'll tell you to look at these programs.
night is our last day. And then we're taking down registration and we are just going to be coaching people for the rest of the year and into next year. Okay. Give yourself grace, give yourself grace and know that with the right coaching. And when you see those layers of learning, you'll be amazed at the difference you'll see in your dog. And it's, I mean, the nice thing about any of our programs, you can try them and, and see, get the wow factor. And if for whatever reason your life circumstance happens, Oh, Susan, I got the wow factor, but I also got my transition blue and it's within the first two weeks. We give you a money back guarantee. So just contact us. I want to give away prizes now. So who's up for some prize winning, you know, you got to ask the universe if you want it. So who's up for some prize winning, just saying, giving away three prizes and let's start with the lovely shape by dog. It should be shaped by both. Right. That's great name for a podcast. The shape by dog mug. That sounds like you put it in the comments. Yeah. You got to ask the universe when you're, you're ready for something I'm ready to receive. Come on. I want to win. Yeah. Let's see if you don't win with one of the people's names that said, yeah, I'm up for a big win. It might've been you. That's prize number one. Sounds like it's a great call. It's a great insulated mug. Sounds like Shetty Dawn. Absolutely. Next is our great Zentech crate mat. You're going to love that. And finally, number three, I do these in all different orders. You see, Oh, something bad just happened to this chair. I'm being propelled forward through the screen. Um, I think I hit a switch when I picked up the propel from blue nine. Great for fitness work. Oh my gosh. I don't know what I've done, but I'm in trouble. Oh my gosh. Okay. We'll just get through this and I'll fix my chair. Okay. Um, so here's what we're going to do. I've got to check in with my team, how many shares we had yesterday, but first I'm going to tell you the way you can win for tomorrow. We're doing two more, two more draws, one for tomorrow and one we're going to do on Tuesday for all of our students. How's that? How cool is that? Okay. So in order to win share, the chair is kicking me out for sure. You're going to go, first of all, you're going to hit the wow button on this video or the thumbs up button on this video and let the social media network know that this thought process, this philosophy towards dog training is worth other people hearing about because that's what they look at. They look at,

do people like this video? Um, we, we get another angry face. We had an angry face yesterday. Okay. That's okay. I'm not everyone's cup of tea, but if, well, you're having your cup of tea, you like being angry at me. I'm okay with that. I've got very broad shoulders. So you're going to give me a wow or a thumbs up, and then you're going to go to your social network, whether it be Facebook or Instagram or Twitter or anything else I don't know about. Cause there's lots I don't know about share it, come back here. And if you share it in more than one place, write that in the comments, shared it on three places, shared it here, shared it, um, you know, wherever shared it. I don't know any one of those pages. Okay. Um, guy, the wow button is, is, uh, is the, is on the little thumbs up icons. Okay. So that's how we're going to get our big winners for tomorrow. I don't know, but right now I've got to find my team chat and, Oh, we thought we got 103 yesterday, which is really darn good for a Saturday. Let's go for one 25 on this one. Please share this. If you feel this is a message that other dog trainers need to hear about, or other dog owners or people who potentially are just getting a new dog, like my brother and guns gunnels. They were, they were tatering between gunnels and paddles. I wanted it to be paddles, but I didn't get a vote. All right. 103 is the number that we are going to be going for today. So I'm just going to share my screen. Uh, right here we go. Share the screen and our number that three prizes, 103. You got to believe it to win it. You got to tell the universe. share them in the chat, share them any gems that you went, Oh, that makes sense to me. I would love to get your feedback on, on what you learned today or what you might not have learned it, but it might've like bolded into your brain. Oh, Susan, that's amazing. Um, yeah, I'm just patting myself on the back saying that what I just taught was amazing. So whatever. Okay. Here are today's three winners. Uh, Lori says, I love that we are giving ourself grace instead of guilt. Love that. I love that feedback. Yeah. The word grace is just so important. Um, there's another chair behind me. Yeah. That would take way too much work. Um, Gay, thanks for sharing that to Pinterest. That's awesome. Um, this aligns with my spiritual practice. So cool. Leslie hearts for that. It aligns with mine too, which is why I have to have that alignment and congruency in my life. Uh, that we can start over any time with grace. Yes. My gem was the pause equals punish. Yeah, it does. It's, it's, you know, it feels a little bit more benign, but it's still punishment to the dog. Is it okay? It is okay. It's okay. You can get it and help your pup to learn love, love, love, love, love. Um, grace equals lessons over shame. Absolutely. I love that. It was an eye opener for you, Christina. Thank you. That was awesome. Thank you, Paula. Thank you for being part of our, you know, Wag Nation is something that's secret, but when you join homeschool, the dog, you can learn about it. Um, need to give myself, you know what, it just fills you up more and it gives once, you know, grace fills you up as a human, fills you up with energy, fills you up with compassion and it allows you to be more of that to the people in your world and to your dog. So yeah, grace is so huge. Um, thank you, Elaine. Thank you. Thank you for sharing what you know and helping us to be better human beings. Um, thank you guys. It is sometimes it's really difficult to give yourself grace. Grace. I think, uh, and I see a lot of you saying that your dog's names are grace, which is awesome. Okay. Let's talk about, here's one more, try to get my clients to give themselves a break and don't blame themselves, but this is hard to do for sure. Send them over to this, to this live. Absolutely. Yep. There's a great one, Veronica. Grace creates forgiveness. Okay. Winners. The winners for today of the sounds like Shetty is Martha husband. Yeah, Martha, congratulations.
