왜 반려견이 기본기만 갖추길 바라시나요? 이렇게 한번 생각해 보세요. 만약 기대치를 기본 수준으로 설정한다면 말이죠. 기본 단계와 심화 단계, 이렇게 두 가지 수준이 있다고 치죠. 그럼 기본 아래에는 무엇이 있을까요? 평범 이하겠죠? 아무도 그걸 원하진 않을 겁니다. 그러니 당신이 원하는 수준을 기본 단계에 맞춘다고 가정해 봅시다. 두 가지 수준이 있는데 기본을 선택한다면, 당신이 그 기준조차 달성하지 못할 경우 당신은, 당신이 생각하는 어떤 기본 명령어든 그것을 수행하기 위한 기술이 필요합니다. 그래서 그 기준조차 도달하지 못할 때, 당신은 평범 이하의 수준, 즉 기본도 안 되는 상태로 떨어지게 됩니다. 그러니 기대치를 조금 더 높여야 합니다. 특히 강아지라면 더더욱 그렇습니다. 더 많이 가르쳐야 합니다. 더 많은 것을 하는 것이 반려견에게는, 인지적으로 발달하는 데 더 흥미롭기 때문입니다. 더 많은 도전을 통해 반려견의 에너지를, 당신이 제시하는 것들에 쏟게 할 수 있습니다. 당신이 기본을 원한다고 해서 반려견에게, 기본만 필요한 것은 아닙니다. 반려견은 항상 기본보다 조금 더 많은 것이 필요합니다. 반려견에게 더 많은 목적의식을 줘야 합니다. 더 많은 기회를 주고, 성장할 잠재력을 더 많이 부여해야 합니다. 그러기 위한 유일한 방법은, 실제로 더 많은 훈련을 하는 것입니다. 예를 들어, 제 힐링(Heeling) 책을 읽어보시면 곧 알게 될 겁니다. 집중과 교감을 위해 제가 12가지 힐링 스타일을 만들었다는 것을요. 6개는 집중 모드, 6개는 교감 모드죠. 왜 12가지 스타일이냐고요? 하나만으로도 충분히 어렵지 않냐고요? 글쎄요, 바로 그 점입니다. 반려견이 발달하길 원한다면 말이죠. 시간이 더 걸리는 것도 아닙니다. 제가 여러분보다 6배나 12배 더 많은 시간을 힐링 훈련에 쏟는 게 아닙니다. 아니에요, 저는 사실, 다양하게 섞어서 훈련합니다. 변화를 주는 것은 반려견에게 정말 흥미롭고, 여러분에게도 즐거운 일입니다. 매번 똑같은 기본 훈련만 반복하는 대신, 도전을 더하고 훈련 자체를 즐겁게 만들어 주죠. 저에게 기본기에 대해 묻는다면, 저는 오직 '앉아, 엎드려, 기다려, 진정해' 딱 한 가지만 생각날 뿐입니다. 그리고 음 예를 들어 이걸 빼놓는 것 같은데 제가 생각할 수 있는 기본은 이 정도이고, 동의하지 않으신가요? 셰퍼드처럼 지능이 높은 개에게는 서너 가지 명령만으로는 충분하지 않다는 것을요. 여러분은 정말 더 많은 것을 해야 할 겁니다. 제가 시켜서가 아니라 여러분이 원해서 그렇게 해야 한다는 겁니다. 그것이 우리가 개를 키우는 이유이고, 개들에게 조금 더 목적 의식을 심어주고 그들의 능력을 믿어주는 것, 그리고 그들은 위대한 일을 해낼 수 있다는 것입니다. 저희에게는 MVP 학생들이 있고 화이트 셰퍼드들도 정말 정말 멋진 일들을 해내고 있습니다. 저는 이 개들이 스스로 즐거워하는 모습을 보는 게 정말 즐겁습니다. 그러면 여러분은 행복한 견주들을 볼 수 있을 겁니다. 행복한 개와 행복한 견주, 그것이 바로 이 일의 핵심이죠. строй
why do you want your dog to be basic because look at it this way if you set the bar basic let's say you have basic and you have advanced so there's two levels right because what's underneath basic mediocre right nobody wants that so let's say you you put it on the basic level where you want to be there's two levels you choose basic that means if you're not even hitting because you need you you need skill also for whatever basic command you have in mind so whenever you're not even reaching that you're going into mediocrity you're going into actually sub basic so you have to elevate the bar a little bit higher especially for a puppy please you have to do more because doing more is more interesting for the dog cognitively to develop you have more challenges can use its energy more into the things that you present that you put to the table because you want basic doesn't mean your dog needs basic your dog always needs a little bit more than just basic you have to give it more purpose you have to give it more opportunities you have to give it more potential to grow and the only way to do that is actually by doing more exercises for example if you read my healing book you'll find out pretty quickly i've done 12 healing styles just for uh focus and contact means six by six right six in focus style six in contact mode why 12 styles you know why 12 styles isn't the one already hard enough well that's the thing if you want your dog to develop and it doesn't take more time because it's not like i'm training hours or six times or 12 times more than you on healing no i'm actually mixing it up mixing it up makes it really interesting for a dog makes it also fun for you makes it a challenge makes it like enjoyable to train dogs instead of always doing the basics because if you talk to me about basics there's only one thing i can think of which is sit down stay calm and um leave it out for example that these are the only basics i can think of and wouldn't you agree that four five six commands is not going to be enough for a dog as intelligent as a shepherd you're going to have to really do more and have to not because i'm telling you because you want to that's why we have a dog is to give them a little bit more purpose to believe in them and what they can do and they can do great things you know we have mvp students also white shepherds doing really really nice things i i really enjoy that these dogs are enjoying it themselves and then you can see happy owners happy owners with happy dogs that's what this is about you know строй
