Everybody gets frustrated when a puppy bites, but do you know that there's things that you might be doing to cause the puppy to want to bite? Let's eliminate those now, starting with the way people greet puppies. So many people want to grab a puppy's muzzle and give it a shake like they're shaking hands. That's encouraging a puppy to see hands coming towards their face to bite them, to protect themselves. No more muzzle grabs. Don't use your fingers as toys. Buy yourself some toys so your puppy will bite on them. Check out how you're dressed before you start training. Do you have some dangling bits? Because those can be targets for the little mouths. Take away the shoelaces. Eliminate hanging jewelry. And of course, no open-toed sandals. And finally, set your environment up for success. Make the obvious choice the correct choice so your puppy doesn't get frustrated. Therefore, no reason to bite.
