연결된 개란 무엇일까요? 글쎄요, 특정 품종의 개를 말하는 것은 아닙니다. 사냥개일 수도 있고, 무릎에 앉아 있는 반려견일 수도 있습니다. 리트리버나 보더 콜리일 수도 있죠. 여러 견종이 섞인 믹스견일 수도 있습니다. 연결된 개란 자신감이 커지고 보호자와의 유대 관계가 깊어진 개를 말합니다. 이전에는 개를 산만하게 만들었던 것들이 이제는 백색 소음이 되는 것이죠. 어떤 개가 연결된 개가 되어야 할까요? 물론 모든 개가 해당되겠지만, 특히 반려견과 함께 어질리티 같은 활동을 하며 어디든 함께 다니고 싶다면 더욱 그렇습니다. 연결은 도그 어질리티의 기초입니다. 왜냐하면 개가 혼자 무엇인가를 할 때에도 보호자와 신뢰 관계가 형성되어 있어야 코스를 도는 동안 서로 계속해서 연결된 상태를 유지할 수 있기 때문입니다.
What is a connected dog? Well, it isn't a certain dog. It could be a hunting dog. It could be a lap dog. It could be a retriever or a border collie. It could be a mix of many different breeds. A connected dog is a dog that has grown in its confidence and grown in its relationship with you. That things that previously distracted the dog become white noise. What kind of dog needs to be a connected dog? Well, any dog, of course, especially if you want a family pet that you can take places and do things with, like dog agility. Connection is the foundation of dog agility, because there needs to be that trusting relationship that when the dog is off doing something, you are still connected as you move around a course.
