교감 게임을 시작할 건데, 먼저 간식을 던져주는 패턴을 만들 거예요. 여러분도 다 본 적이 있겠지만, 이번에는 강아지가 다시 여러분 쪽으로 올 때 무릎 근처에서 두어 번 간식을 먹이면서 '와, 정말 잘했어'라고 해준 다음, 다른 간식을 하나 더 던져줄 거예요. 여기에 단어를 더하기 시작할 때는 '가서 가져와(go get it)'라고 말할 건데, 우리가 다른 교감 게임에서 했던 것처럼 '가(go)'는 항상 강아지에게 우리 곁을 떠나도 좋다는 허락을 의미해요. 그리고 이번에는 강아지가 다시 우리 쪽으로 올 때 강아지를 부르기 시작할 거예요. 이리와(come)라고 부르고 무릎 높이에서 간식을 줄 거예요. 제가 원하지 않는 건 그냥 지나쳐 가는 행동이에요. 이번에는 강아지가 무언가를 무시하게 하려는 게 아니고, 무언가를 찾게 하려는 것도 아니에요. '가서 가져와' 라고 함으로써 무언가를 쫓아가게 한 뒤 돌아오게 하는 거죠. 저는 이 단어와 행동을 아주 명확하게 연결시키려고 해요. 이건 강아지 기초 단어와 행동 연결 훈련이기 때문이에요. 그래서 제가 '가서 가져와'라고 말하고 간식을 던지는 거죠. 물론 버그는 이걸 꽤 오래 해봐서 아주 쉽게 움직여요. 그리고 '이리와' 와, 말할 틈도 없었네요. 그럼 좀 더 명확하게 해볼게요. '가서 가져와'라고 말해서 보상을 가져가게 하고, '이리와'라고 하면 '예스(yes)' 하고 손으로 먹여요. 그래서 저는 강아지가 저에게 돌아올 때 항상 콜백 단어를 말하고, '예스'를 말해서 강아지가 잘하고 있는 순간, 즉 저에게 돌아오는 순간을 표시해주고 손으로 먹이를 주는 거예요. '예스'는 네가 지금 잘하고 있다는 걸 알려주는 보상 표시기이고, 먹이는 손에서 나오기 때문이죠. '가서 가져와'는 내 곁을 떠나도 된다는 허락이고, 레몬은 저쪽에서 먹이고 있어요. '이리와' 잘했어, 정말 잘했어. 아주 좋아요. 정말 멋져요. 저 또한 이걸 아주 강력하게 만들려고 노력하고 있어요. 왜냐하면 많은 경우에 '가서 가져와' 간식 던지기는 10달러 정도의 가치밖에 안 되지만, '이리와'는 제게 정말 소중한 단어이기 때문이에요. 제가 간식을 가지러 세 번, 네 번, 다섯 번씩 돌아가서 계속 주는 걸 보셨을 텐데, 그건 제가 개에게 이 행동이 정말 정말 잘한 것이라는 걸 알려주고 싶기 때문입니다. 가서 다 먹으렴. 그래, 이 훈련에 아주 좋은 방식이구나. 좋은 설명이었어요. 좋은 설명입니다. 잘했어요. 다음번엔 더 잘해봅시다. 알았죠?
an engagement game and we're just gonna build a pattern first where we toss the cookie you guys have all seen this before but this time when your puppy comes back towards you i want you to feed a couple times at your knees and be like oh this is amazing and then you're gonna take another cookie and toss it away when we start adding words to this we are gonna add the words go get it like we've done in one of our other engagement games go is always permission for a puppy to leave us and then this time when they are headed back towards us we're gonna start calling the puppy to come yay and we're gonna feed it our knees so what i don't want is i don't want drive-bys this time i'm not trying to get puppies to ignore things i'm not trying to get them to look for things go get it i am allowing them to chase things and then come and i'm trying to be very clear to associate the word with the behavior still because this is puppy puppy basic word association with behavior so if i say go get it i then do the cookie toss and of course bug has done this a while so she moves pretty easily and then come wow i barely had time to get that in um so let me be a little bit more clear this time i say go get it which says go get the reward come yes feed from hand so i always see the recall word when she's moving back towards me and then i say yes to mark the moment that she's doing the right thing which is moving back towards me and then i'm feeding from the hand because yes is a reward marker that says you're doing the right thing and the food comes from the hand go get it permission to leave me and i'm feeding lemon over there on the side come yay good job very nice very nice i'm also trying to make it super powerful because remember a lot of times our go get it cookie tosses are worth about 10 bucks but come is a really valuable word to me so when you see me feed her three four five times going back in to get more treats that's because i want to tell her that this was really really good go get it all right that's a good one for this exercise good explanation good explanation good job do better next time okay
