what age is it when you start to have any agility obstacles? It's like suddenly the stream stopped. I started getting comments and then there's nothing. So if you're out there, put a, just say, Hey, it's me. I'm from, tell me where you're from. First of all, and give me a heart. If you love dog agility, give me a heart. So if you can, um, Oh, so when, so you start training obstacles when the bones are fused, that is from Chris. I'm not seeing any of these comments, but my team is relaying to me. So thank you guys. Uh, Chris and the German shepherds and the Aussie boy, when the bones are fused. So anybody else out there doing dog agility for me, it isn't a, an age for me, it's the dog's, um, abilities. So I believe that the dog has needs a number of foundational skills. And coincidentally, you can get those started in an, in homeschool, the dog, a ton of foundational skills that make for a dog that has brilliance in agility. So you want things like, um, tug and release when you ask and, um, stay in, in what we call the hot zone value for reinforcement zone agility today. Now, 10 years ago, when we started handling three 60, we introduced, you know, tons of verbal cues and everyone thought we were a little cray cray. Now the world is using verbal cues. So you have to have a dog who can run and, and be able to differentiate between the words that you're saying when you're running. So all of that happens long before my puppy see agility obstacles. But let me, I'm just gonna, I'm going to, you can let him in. You can let him in Jenny. Um, Swagger likes to watch. I'm going to turn the camera around. I'm going to get my puppy. I'm going to do a little demo for you guys. Uh, okay. So perfect. Give me a heart. If you can see my training area that I have for the puppy and Jenny, you have to find my toy that I had out that he has now gotten rid of somewhere. So I'll give Swagger this one. My Swagger, can you know, Swagger, I need you to hop it up on the coach. Thank you. All right. So there's a tug toy here. And when I ask him to strike, he can get it. That's the dog having self-control. I really want it. I really want it. And when I ask you to mine, then you drop it. It doesn't matter if I'm still pulling strike. And it doesn't matter if I'm holding it or not. He loves his toy. But if I say mine, then you drop it. Strike. That's verbal

control. Now watch this. Ready, steady, strike. Yeah. He wants that toy. Right. Get him sighted. Ready, steady, strike. Nice. Nice, nice, nice, nice, nice, nice. Mine. Ready, steady, down. Strike. So when I ask you to do something, now watch this time. I'm going to have him go right by that. Ready, steady, hop it up. Strike. Yeah. So we had to go by the thing he wanted and do the thing I said. That's the verbal control that makes agility so darn easy. That's what you want with your puppies before you introduce them to any obstacles. And how you're going to get that, you're going to get it in Homeschool the Dog. Mine. So retrieve. Ready, set. Bring me. So immediately back to my hand. If I change hands, he brings it over there. And then if I ask him, ready, mine. Ready, set. Bring me. So in the middle, if I say sit, that's like the dog heading towards a tunnel, but I want him to go to a jump. That's the things that make for a great agility dog. Drake, you can have that. Okay. I know. I know, but I got to work now. Okay. So does that make sense to you guys? That, that, can you understand how that is, um, valuable to have all of those things in there before you have your dog, because do, do a tunnel or do jumps or, because if you let them fall in love with the obstacles, then it's hard to pull them back to get them to follow you. Agility is not about the obstacles. People agility is about the relationship with you, that the dog will turn. When you ask them to turn, they'll power ahead. They'll stop. That's what, and that's why you need a solid foundation. And so I'll, I'm going to share with you if you want, um, give me, give me a heart. So Roz said, when's the best time to introduce it to a rescue? And that's a really cool thing. Rather you have a puppy or a rescue dog, it's the same. You, you introduce the obstacles. Once you've got that foundation of the dog driving into reinforcement zone of the dog, ignoring what they want. When you ask them to come and do something with you, what do you got? You kook. All right. That's when you start into, it doesn't matter if it's a rescue dog or a puppy. Okay. So I'm going to pull up my run. This is with, um, my nine year old girl momentum should be nine, I think in a couple of weeks. And, um, so this is her run from this morning. I let, when I left the trial, she was in first place, which there's a lot of really

great agility dogs. Um, really cool course from, um, a judge from Italy who's over here. Um, he did some seminars, uh, uh, dear friend, uh, of mine that I've known for many, many years in the sport of learning about him this morning. Oh, watch. You're done. Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, man. Nice. So an unfortunate brick out of the wall, but it was biathlon, and she had this, she had an amazing ride in Tom Plus. I don't know where she is right now, but with two-thirds of the class gone when I left, she was in first place. So how do you get that? You get that by not focusing on that.
