all right so i'm gonna try in few words to explain to you why would you need to buy chase and catch 2.0 it is one of the most fundamental concepts in my training without conflict system while other trainers will use food to teach sit down stand all these behaviors i am much more preoccupied making sure that me and my puppy like to play games by playing games we're accomplishing many things one is we have to come up to an agreement how to work together how to cooperate and how to see each other as fellow creatures and not necessarily as a food source focusing on the behavior itself it's never really the hard part teaching us it heal any of those things it's not hard to do even if you don't know how with a little bit of time you will teach the behaviors but ultimately what it comes down to is how bad the dog wants to perform that behavior what's the level of motivation and even more important than what's the level of motivation is what kind of emotions are involved when the dog is performing so for example if we're using food as a reinforcer we are activating a certain part in the brain that creates certain emotions in the dog if we're gonna use escape avoidance training being with a leash being with an electric we are also activating different part of dog's brain and we're creating motivation for a specific reason games are no different they activate a very specific part and what is interesting about games is that they're biologically programmed in us and dogs it's not a social construct it's not that we need to learn something about games we are genetically programmed to play so assuming that all primal needs are made and we have a good feeling towards each other all we want to do is play so chasing catch basically will allow you to tap into that compartment of the brain come into agreement find out how to cooperate and see each other as fellow creatures to move along forward into a very nice uh emotion and motivation level so you can perform to the maximum of your abilities and your dog's gonna love that uh when you think that playing games is just something that you do for your spare time that's a a very big misconception and as i said the the first thing that i would do i will find a way how to teach my dogs to play then how to see me as a player as a team player right from there on of course we will have level of authority of course we will have level of reliability but the overall picture and how the dog perceives you if you're from the foundation or training is based on games it's very different than anything else so that's the reason why in my system training without conflict we spend so much time first during uh you know being a puppy
